The incremental, solid shaft encoders FG 40 Ex can be deployed in a wide variety of applications to measure the speed at standard, main and secondary drives in potentially explosive atmospheres, for example in the oil and gas industry as well as in petrochemical applications. Certified to EN 60079 (ATEX) and IEC 60079 (IECEx) the encoder is certified for applications in Zones 1 and 2 (gas) as well as Zones 21 and 22 (dust) and designed to meet degree of protection requirements IP66. Technically, they are based on the FG 40 models. The explosion-proof housings with detachable terminal box covers facilitate connecting the cables during on site installation. That in turn means it is possible to use different cable lengths to connect a device of the same type. |
